While the Naval Sea Cadet and Navy League Cadet Corps are open to all youth and is committed to maintaining a diverse membership, certain evolutions require a minimum skill set for safety reasons. We do not discriminate in our Cadet or Volunteer policies on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, national/ethnic origin, sex, sexual orientation, age or with regard to the basis outlined in the Veterans Readjustment Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
PFA’s allow the Command Staff to determine what evolutions each Cadet may qualify for and what will be the Cadet’s potential to complete the assigned training. It also allows Staff to be aware of each Cadet’s threshold for safety and to minimize any potential injury. PFA’s are based on a combination of the current US Navy PFA standards and the Presidential Challenge Fitness Test. A Physical Readiness Manual is provided for Cadet preparation and administration of the tests.
This manual provides the guidance to administer Physical Fitness Assessments – PFA (previoulsy Physical Readiness Training – PRT) to members of the Naval Sea Cadet and Navy League Cadet Corps, highlights include:
We highly recommend every Cadet review this manual to know what is expected. Additional charts with minimum pass scores are below.
