Saturday, 30 September 2017 is National Park Clean Up and International Coastal Clean Up Day. The Palm Beach Division is dedicated to supporting the U.S. Navy’s environmental initiative and is scheduled to assist on this day at the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse.
Cadets participating will earn community service hours towards their community service ribbon as well as hours towards their community service requirement for school graduation. In addition, cadets participating will earn the Unit Citation ribbon and/or Bronze Star if previously earned.
This is a public event so family and friends are welcome to attend as well. Accordingly, we will be in the public eye and should reflect the highest tenets of the Sea Cadet Corps at all times.
The event starts at 0800 (8am) with everyone meeting at the Northside Parking Area. The parking area is small, so we request that everyone park in Lighthouse Park just down the street. There will be a mix of activities from shoreline cleanup to staining the boardwalk/overlook.
PLEASE NOTE: Our unit participation will dictate our future use of this facility. This includes opportunities to work in the Lighthouse, use of the facilities and opportunities with the Coast Guard.
UOD is PT Gear. You may wear any Sea Cadet or Navy logo shirt. If you do not either, then wear a plain yellow t-shirt. Navy blue shorts, White mid-calf socks and athletic shoes.
